Fullwood Merlin

Good basic machine. Had first one for 9 years and put 2 second hand x 225's in about four months ago.
In my opinion in this area at least, emergency breakdowns are a gamble depending which engineer is on call. It's not the engineers fault they just cover a big area. Also experience is limited as they've never sold in the numbers Lely have, so may not work on a robot for months. The engineers working on Lely robots day in day out so everything is fresh and current in their minds and they've encountered most things and have fully kitted out vans with technical backup that appears to be second too none.

This makes them the number one choice and i'd say they have the highest success rate in fitted robots, which in turn makes second hand values way ahead of the competition.

Nothing wrong with Fullwood and currency must be helping them price wise against the imported makes. Certainly worth consideration if you are happy you can get the service.

I have 3 M2s been going 22 months now, had few niggles same as all brands but happy with them. Didnt have a good feeling about the chap with the Lely franchise for this area at the time i made the order and wanted to buy british and they are only made 50 miles up the road from me. Think i have had more problems with the m2s than would have had with a4s but they had only been out a few months when i had mine but feel i am looked after better by fullwood when i have had problems than Lely would have.

when i was looking VMS, A4 and M2 were all within 10k of each other for a tank, OOPFS and 3 robots, price should be 4th-5th on the list of things to take into consideration when robot shopping imho.

is the 9 yr old machine working ok any problems cause of it age.are your cows in all year round. lad near me has awful problems getting the cows in from the paddocks took water troughs out of the paddocks aswell

It was still going fine although was showing serious signs of use. Nothing that couldn't be put right but when 2 used ones that had done very little work came up nearby at the right money i felt it was the time to change and have the luxury of some spare capacity. I was used to them so took them out, transported them and did 95% of fitting them myself.
I've broke the old one and it's here boxed up in the compressor room for spares. That's a big re-assurance too.Fact was it was probably worth about £10/12k and i felt it was worth that too me as spares.
cows are in all year and zerograzed............... still going at the moment (y)
