Galvanised gate springs

Does anyone know where I can get these galvanised gate springs from to fit over a 20mm bar....bought about 40 years ago but used them all now and where I got them from doesn’t seem to stock them now.

Anyone who sells IAE or Ritchie gates should be able to get the springs no problem

you can buy the pin and spring separately. Problem with googling compression springs you get lots to choose from and dont know how hard it soft they are!

Try to stick with off-the-shelf sizes. I got a price to make some custom springs for a job and the price was eye watering. Ended up cheaper buying stock springs at double the length and cutting them myself.

Go to Springmasters then search part number 471158 and choose left or right hand helix.

It goes by thickness of wire, Nm pressure is on link I posted.

Had these made for mine a few years ago, left and right and a few spares, cant remember how much.
Havin some springs made for the drop foors on the shearing trailer, when i pick um up I'll find out if ya like....if there the same?. Pm if want I'll gotta pick mine up next week

Thanks for the offer,they don't look quite the same but maybe ok. They've been broken for a couple of years so no rush! Don't wait for me and hold up your project anyway

Mole Valley Farmers used to stock spare 20mm sliding bolt springs for IAE gates. I bought some for 85p each - product code was 08782 but they don't google any more.
If it was me I'd write to IAE 'spares department' enclosing a tenner for their office biscuit tin and ask them nicely to put five in the post to you

You can make them quite easily. 2.5mm high tensile fencing wire wound around a solid bar.

You can't get galvanized springs?
Galvanising takes the "spring" out of them

You can get zinc plated which is near as good
