No its dot a thumb switch up and down. There the only 2 gesrs it does it with
I have a nine speed powershift on my Same and often it will jump two gears instead of one when upshifting. Not always.
I put it down to what I described above, although not having investigated further I can't be sure. It only started doing it in the last two or three years of its 27 year life. Only done some 6000 hours though.
It is unlikely, in my opinion, that is an ECU issue or a solenoid playing up, but nothing is impossible. The ECU must be getting a signal from somewhere to change ratios and that is most likely to be from the switch used by the driver. If not, then it could be the ECU which I bet is an expensive part.

Hi so have you got a gear stick with 4 ranges on it with the thumb switch on it that moves up and down for the 8 powershifts ?

Do the RANGE gears always show ok on the dash ? I take it that its the powershifts that change on there own ?

Do any errors come on the dash when its giving trouble ?

It sounds like it could be a range sensor playing up and it keeps loosing what range gear it is in and its trying to speed match the powershifts.
