Generator and storage batteries

I am writing this from our pump house as the water pump is at far end but at this end by door there is concrete steps where a
Diesel generator and storage batteries were located
The walls are still black in places
The electric pole in field is dated 1961 so I suppose that is when the generator was removed
Does anyone have an idea what sort of generator was installed??

Probably a Lister or Petters single cylinder...... Who knows?

lister startomatic I think they where everywhere here ,used to run the exhaust outside into a hole and cover with bales to help silence it
