Our Genus sales representative is calling in next week to discuss their new pricing. If a price is given in that region he will be asked to leave the farm immediately and not return !!!!
Genus service here isnā€™t exactly amazing as cows have been regularly served 1-2pm which means highly stressed cows that wonā€™t always hold well in summer as kept in. Winters never a problem.
Daughter has done the course and is fully confident for dairy so only need a flask and our bull is only to willing to oblige for beefšŸ‘
Have seen the Genus rep and in all honesty there is actually very little change in costs on timed visits/ inseminations as weā€™ve always had cows in the race and ready and wash facilities next to van parking so quick and because of this our time on farm is minimal ( recorded via tracker apparently) .
Rep said anyone with only a handful of cows to serve may see a saving in syncā€™ing them rather than paying top rates and multiple visits.

I guess genus have achieved what they wanted to here.
Bigger, easier and more accessible herringbone race going in.

How are you getting on with breeder tag? How long hove you used the system?
This is our 2nd year. The tags are very good. No doubt about that.
The genus seg gate, will let you know in a few weeks. Average at best last year. But hopefully a few things altered this year.
Any device without a seg gate to me is a waste of time, if your picking them manually, may aswel look at a scratch card.
If labour was plentiful, it would be scratch cards and extra person for 9 weeks

Seg gate is great when it works but drive you mad when it doesnā€™t. Hope you get it working.
