Getting rid of Rabbits near houses...?

If you can,,borrow some trammel nets rather than long nets as they are much easier to operate at night. They have a 3ply construction which forms a bag as each rabbit hits the net and doesn't cause the net to collapse which means you can have a dozen rabbits in a length of net and one person can take their time to release and dispatch. I use five 50yd lengths of easy set trammel net at night with no problems as its all set up in a basket with poles fitted,,just walk along placing poles with a tight net and off you go. Try to use white ferrets at night for obvious reasons !

Does anyone use a drop net? Are they sold ready made or are they all diy jobs?
Iv run quite a few, always a diy job Iv never seen any purpose sold kits.
The easiest way would be to buy a quick set long net then just a few poles a couple of meters high along hedge line. The tricky part is the dripping system and even harder the right conditions!!
I would think near the village it would be vandalised/missing pretty quick though.

Something totally out of the box and perhaps a tad unusual (if not unsporting); if you don't want to eat them you could try gassing them. I was watching a program on late night tv the other week and some guys were stuffing dry-ice into city ratholes and sealing them up. N2, CO2, or CO from exhaust could possibly do the same job.

Perhaps I am being cruel in putting forward such a suggestion; couldn't do it my self. Personally I hated myxomatosis and rat poisoning and would prefer to take out the critters with well placed .22 pellets; swift and minimal suffering.

Whatever happened to the Rodentor. Don’t seem to have heard anything about that on here lately!
I’ve got one I’d sell . Did a good job when we were over run with rabbits a few years ago. Haven’t really needed it since.
