  • US markets – soy higher as fob basis firms with a dry weather forecast. Corn moved higher on a drier outlook for western corn belt. Wheat unchanged as weakness in Minneapolis spills over into Chicago market and spreads are liquidated.
  • Traders watching radars have seen decent rains sweeping across North and South Dakota yesterday, although rains this late will not matter for spring wheat, but will bring some moisture relief for corn and soy crops..
  • US weather – little changed with rains across the mid-western corn belt over the next 5-7 days. Northern plains seen remaining dry with extreme heat over the next 5 days.
  • US gulf basis on soybeans firms due to the strong Brazilian currency, which has producers in Brazil reluctant to sell and so slowing supply.
  • Matif closes lower as the euro remained near 15-month highs vs the US$, and the French vessel line-up remains thin.
