Gloucester cows

Any ever milk them? Any records available. I would live to try a couple in my milking herd, they look like a lovely cow. I know some will say rare breeds are rare for a reason but sure there has to b a bit of fun in the job too!!
Any information would b greatly appreciated!

They do look lovely that's true, but that is about it. The few we had struggled to produce 4000 litres of low constituent milk!

I'm afraid if you feed them like a Holstein, their feet will cause you a big problem. In my experience, they are a bit highly strung.

I'm very much a spring grass, low input, crossbreed herd so over feeding of concentrates will not b a problem (circa 450kgs/had per annum). I'm disappointed to hear they have low constituents, with their history and the cheese I thought they would be good!
