Glyphosate

Dumb question:(
I need help to clarify the law regarding the application of 360g/l Glyphosate via a handlance/spot spray (ATV sprayer) by a self employed farmer?
What records do I need to keep?
Are any risk assessments required?
Is a buffer zone required? Are there issues with watercourses & footpaths? And Cross compliance?

Cant remember off hand if there is a dose rate for spot spraying on the can, you will need to know what area the sprayer will cover with given amount of water to know what rate to put in!

Thanks so far.
As I read it, the 5mtr rule only applies to boom sprayers? Therefore I can spot spray to within 1mtr? And no LERAP is required for Glyphosate, is this correct?

There are a hand full glyphosate products that are LERAP cat. B, but you are correct that LERAP only applies to boom sprayers and the label I looked at (Roundup Ultimate) stated hand held sprayers could be used from 1m of the top of the bank

Relevant? :p What would they know?

They were using concentrated Kerb on pavements in September which led to its amenity use being withdrawn after it washed 4 inches into the nearest drain

As long as the product being used has a label recommendation for:

"Natural surfaces not intended to bear vegetation, permeable surfaces overlaying soil, hard surfaces"
or possibly "Amenity vegetation"
or similar you are using the product in an approved way, but check as not all glyphosate products have these on the label.

CRD database search say there are 88 glyphosate products with aquatic use on the label.
I could be wrong with this but I think you could apply these to the water and bank but not the 1m between the top of the bank and the field due to cross compliance
