going rate for small hay bales

I have got a few thousand here at £4 a bale (straw £3). But quality not great after a catchy summer season so would be good to shift the lot before January. It would help pay for sorting a tractor head gasket and hire costs of the replacement machine too.:(

But too much work in calculating you costs to produce them?

We produce them for our own use every year, but someone I know has asked if we have any spare to buy and we haven’t sold any for years so was just asking what the going rate is to get an idea what to charge, if it was up to me she could have some but I’m not the boss

We buy small bales off the field from a few people for £3 a bale and collect with our forklift. When we used to buy it as and when through the winter and have it delivered it was generally £5-£5.50 a bale that was a small lorry load at a time.
