Going to have a Swale of a time! (I hope)

Just googled him, 1000 acres spread across 2 counties, doesn't look overstocked, any idea of the stocking rate ?should have kept my mouth shut, I used to go and buy three quartered and ugly heifers from his home farm 40 years ago off a Mrs Tollit (wonder would that have been his mother in law) she used to sell fresh heifers and I'd have 2nd quality for calf rearing, always outside.
If I remember right, he's on a cow and calf to two acres with some bale supplementation, four acres without and those figures are improving. That is without any cake or fertiliser, cows calving late and wintered on the cow. Certainly not overstocked, as you say, but he won't be lying awake at night wondering how he's going to pay for inputs. He finishes native stores, grass only, at 28 months average.

I completely get the difficulties many experience outwintering cattle
