Worth every penny compared to the fudging cost of lamb.

I wonder if it’s got anything to do with the backlog, a lot of farmers cut back on the spec of the diets to almost stall the growth rates of the pigs which would have led to a slightly older animal but not being pushed so hardNot sure if it's a consequence of older, heavier animals being cut, but the pork I've had from Morrisons this last two months has been really good. Shoulder three times has been visibly darker meat and more yellowish fat. And much more depth of fat as well. Has roasted beatifully. Mrs tc thinks I'm mad on this heat to have roast pork every Sunday.
Wednesday is roast pork belly night.Couldn't you manage some Wednesdays too?
Can't stand the stuff myself but don't tell anyone.
The best flavoured cut since we were forced down the lean backfat route.Wednesday is roast pork belly night.
They won't. They wouldn't understand the conceptI just don't understand it. I really don't. You would think the pig industry, a lynch pin of the entire industry should be a stable and straight forward business. Instead it's just a fudging disgrace. Fudging retailers and processors should hang their heads in shame.
Milestone reached last week, one gilt in a load of 200 returned over the £200 mark. Hopefully, soon be all of them over £200 each. Price of £2/kg my next milestone, might pass that next week
Even with the small drop in feed prices, I would still say below cost of productionis that profit/loss/break even?
Yes sad when it feels like something to celebrate, will be worse when I'm paying 70p per unit for electricity come October. We need the 230p/kg at current feed prices, more if they rise again.Even with the small drop in feed prices, I would still say below cost of production
I dread to think about where the electricity’s going to be at come renewal, think it’s going to be seriously worth considering a wind turbine to try and offset at least some of the electricYes sad when it feels like something to celebrate, will be worse when I'm paying 70p per unit for electricity come October. Good luck getting planningI dread to think about where the electricity’s going to be at come renewal, think it’s going to be seriously worth considering a wind turbine to try and offset at least some of the electric
That hard is it? They always talk about trying to get everyone to go renewable and then when people try the council shut them down just as quickGood luck getting planning
Solar? That hard is it? They always talk about trying to get everyone to go renewable and then when people try the council shut them down just as quick
I am pretty sure that there is an effective ban on all land based turbines in England currently. That hard is it? They always talk about trying to get everyone to go renewable and then when people try the council shut them down just as quick
They will regret this long term .On the radio just that two big processing plants are to close. Moves the industry a step closer to its logical end game; handful of retailers, handful of processors, handful of farmers. Will be greeted as good news by the NFU, who for decades have welcomed consolidation as the way forward.
