Nah, that's an insult to slimy little toads. They deserve better than being compared to Gove.

He's a mendacious, self-serving, corrupt (have a look into how Ben Goldsmith wrangled his way into a non exec director role at DEFRA - it involved cash and Gove's constituency) scumbag.

There are some very bitter and twisted people on here, a couple in the public eye announce that they are divorcing and immediately people without a gram of proof are certain that there are other people involved and laws must have been broken. It may be true on both points, but some form of evidence is required first.

I don't much. Gove however made some abject lying statements and is a slimy little toad just waiting for the chance of the top job

And if they want privacy why make a statement through the Cabinet Office ?
Much the same as harry and megan I guess

The Roman Empire eventually it is said, failed because of 8 main causes.
One of those main causes was political rot and corruption in the Senate.
I’m minded to declare “et tu Boris”!

Oh, another major factor was the decline in slave labour, as the successes of the legions in foreign fields dried up, and so the capture of slaves to transport to Italy, to work the fields, construction, and maintenance of Rome also dried up.
Leaving aside the slave element, the parallels with the labour shortage in Britain, is quite interesting.

”Beware the ides of Brexit”….

Why leave aside the slave element?
Its the cheap labour driving a race to the bottom that has packed up and gone home.
The only people that benefit from them staying are the company owners and their bottom line.
Fewer foreign waggons running around on imported fuel, ragging the hours out, not paying into the system and killing folk on the road.......... its a winner.

Shelves at Waterstones, it is mentioned in a biography of him printed a couple of years back. Unsurprisingly he hasn't sought a correction from the author on the matter, I doubt there's any man on here who would do any different if the story went round that he were "blessed" in such a way :joyful:

Gove has chosen a life in the public eye . The public not only deserve to know but need to know the morals and background of a person they will be asked to vote into high office. If he can’t stand the scrutiny he should change his job !
As for his wife this sort of thing is meat and drink to her. Delving into others personal lives is how she has made her living.

As far as we know, they have decided to separate. There has been no suggestion, as far as I know, that there has been any moral indiscretion on his part, so it really is only there business.

If the slimy, backstabbing slug has indeed shown himself to be as morally lacking as our dear leader, or Mr Hancock, then it would be in the public interest.

Perhaps he will disclose a string of adulterous affairs and illegitimate children shortly, in a bid to line himself up as PM in waiting, and before Hancock steals his thunder?

IMO it is in the public interest. He is an influential government minister and she is a right-wing tabloid journalist. She will feed her ideologies into government through him and he will promote and influence his though her. It will be interesting to see if it is an amicable bust-up, or if she can't resist the pressure to do an exposé in him in a week or so. :scratchhead:
Politicians cannot win
they either know too many people and have too many conections

or they are in the Westminster bubble divorced from all rereallity

The backstabbing little slug presumably made wedding vows. These are supposed to be some of the most solemn vows that we make,so if we are being asked to vote for and support someone who lightly breaks those vows ( if that is the case )I think it is very much in the public interest to know the truth. So I would still argue it is not “only their business”. They gave up that privilege when choosing a public life.

Getting bit carried away with solemn vows old fella!!

Two in a marriage. Maybe Sarah has decided she doesn't want to live with Gove anymore. So the Govester may not have broken any wedding vows - but find himself the victim of circumstance - that his marriage partner has upped sticks.

Which it’s why it is of public interest. I did say if it’s the case that he is at fault but we have a right to know.
As for getting carried away with the marriage vows, what’s the point of getting married if they mean nothing.

There's no point staying in an un-happy marriage.
They're both independently wealthy.
Just maybe they have decided to separate amicably and there's no one else involved.
It'll come out in time.
my cousin married, seperated , divorced and remarried the same woman 3 times! No one else involved. Couldn't live with each other, couldn't live without each other!

That just sounds bloody exhausting!
Did anyone turn up to round 3?

Perhaps you should lay your bones bare on this public forum so that the rest of us can decide whether or not to be in any way associated with you?

If I were a public figure seeking election and living my life publicly I would……but I’m not. But at least you understand the principle.

Thrice married Jeremy Corbyn went on a motorbike holiday the Eastern Europe with Dianne Abbott before the Iron Curtain fell. Of course this is perfectly alright because they are Labour MPs.
