A consultation has just opened on changes to strengthen the Police powers when uninvited guests set up camp on private land. I suggest we all have our say. The traveller organisations certainly will.

How did you answer the bit that asks if criminalising trespass will negatively or positively affect them?
I commented that trespass should not be criminality where it could occur accidentally but entering private land to deposit waste or set up camp is not accidental. Initially those travellers who engage in such behaviour would be disadvantaged but would quickly adapt to planning their future stops better to avoid committing crimes.
