Did I hear right!!!? Millions coming our way to improve our IT etc so that we have less reliance on foreign workers? and better outlets for food we can't sell? Apart from installing robots, I can't see, on the face of it, what impact this would have on the dairy industry. What about other sectors?

Laying Dairy Contract regulations before Parliament tomorrow to ensure fair & transparent contracts

Not sure we really asked for them TBH ........ only bit I would change would be the conditions regarding inspection by RT

Rather than throw a few crumbs your way would it not be better, cheaper and easier to make importing food harder (at least matching UK standards of production) and more promoting of buy British?
Not a chance this will ever happen unfortunately. Food price inflation would rocket. Easier for them to throw uk ag under the bus.

'The Prime Minister also announced a number of measures to make diversification easier by cutting bureaucratic red tape around permitted development rights so farmers can easily develop buildings and diversify earnings through farm shops, commercial space and sporting venues.'

This is the bit that pee'd me off the most.

Not a snowballs chance in hell. "we are a service economy" and that means both parties are content with throwing food producers under the bus for the perceived benefits that unfettered food imports bring to the wider economy.
