Kuhn 3m Combi Drill
Trimble GFX-750 screen Nav 900 Controller recently fitted to my tractor.
If the physical width of the widest part which is the PH is from outer door to the otherside is 3.08m
& the Outside to Outside disc coulters is 2.87m
Ive been advised to add in an extra coulter spacing so say add on another 14cm which then
makes it 3.01m, this is because iam on RTX correction.
So does some of these settings look about right in pic or am i still not right?
Application Width & Swath Width & Machine Width measurements
they dont make this v easy i can tell you.
Deffo no need for any offset surely its on 3 point linkage & pulls dead straight.
HELP...

Why have you got swath width 5cm less than application width?
poss coz i dunno what to set application width at i guess ?
Its a 3m drill so i put that in.
ive measured the other two & inputted accordingly
Why does it need to have two settings that as i can see tell it the same info?
swath width i agree has to be less tho

Application width is what generates your a-b lines.
Swath width is what generates the coverage logging.
Usually have them both the same, for a drill outside coulter to outside coulter plus one coulter spacing.

Champion i'll change it to them both the same then...
see how us folks thats new to this tech get rather confused.
drilling for 25yrs with no of this neither & my markers are still gonna be used ! i wont be fooled just yet !

I thought Coulter to Coulter plus half distance between coulters

The width should be from outside coulter to coulter plus , 1 coulter space , ( half a space at each side ) so pass to pass allowing for a full space ,

The offset will depend if the coulters are central on the tractor , They aren't with amazone , not sure on khun , Mark centreline of first pass and measure out to coulters to check , then set offset , to move left , you actually set offset right , not bad when you get used to it

Thinking was when setting marker arms was coulter to Coulter plus half coulter distance

As above coulter width plus half if you want it spot on

If you're on a Kuhn LC you're definitely gonna need an offset as the drill is offset to the power harrow

I drill on sf1 JD system which is only meant to be within 30 cm and I can get away with 2.9m which ends up with a coulter overlap each run

I've no idea how accurate your system is meant to be but to get it spot on takes a bit of playing around with settings

The outside coulter on eitherside is 100% same gap from either side of the most outer part of the rest of the drill/ph

Ive set application width & swath width the same but kept physical width slightly wider as it technically is anyways. Try it out tomorrow.

Soz am on RTX 15cm but been told it will get to within 2.5cm once on the line, it most cert was bangon with the unipress earlier in the week

But you must add the coulter width to drill width or you may be coming back down you've already drilled

What sort of coulters have you got ? Our lc was the seedflex and was offset to the packer roller by 2 inches when you out a straight edge from the packer back to the coulters

Basically ignore the power harrow width and go with the total width of the coulters plus the gap between 1 because you need half of 1 coulter either side to make up the 3m

Seedflex discs here the same
Gap on either side is identical no matter how you measure or look at things from the rear you can see it is.

Accord 3m here on RTK, set it at 3m width and zero overlap and is cock on, I put offset on when I use the Vaddy as it pulls to one side or just adjust the link arms off to one side slightly.
