Grain dryer

Do you need grain in dryer for it to fire up would anyone know ?? Lely topflow many thanks

I have a Lely top flow 950 .
Mine will fire up without grain in, no problem. Sometimes the air flow sensor can be a bit slow on mine so the fan light is slow to go out to let you get her going but I cant see that being empty would make any odds.
It had a problem with the big relay in the box a couple of years back and near everthing was disconnected to keep her going and it would light with no fan on, and the high limits were off too.
Put a new relay in and had to rewire it a bit but all the sensors work as they should now.

Our Master dryer has a sensor to tell if there is grain in it

No. Should fire up OK. Always test the burner before you fill it up.
