Grassland Direct Drilling

I’m looking at possibly purchasing a direct drill for rejuvenating grassland and will probably do some contract work with it, I was just wondering what the going rate per acre is. Like the roundbaling thread on here I expect there will be significant variations, would be nice to try and get a ball park figure.

Thanks for all responses I was thinking in the region of £30 per acre which if you do 5 acres per hour which I do easily with a 3m Catros that should equate to £150 per hour which also allows a bit for travelling and time spent calibrating

£25-28 per acre smaller fields carry a surcharge as if you have to travel to do 3 acres it’s not worth it tbh.

we were charged £26/acre, for 1st pass, £29 for x drill.

and he fudged it up, dd the grass to deep.

we have a vaderstaat drill, as the same as the contractor, we were just to busy at the time.

lesson learnt, do it yourselves if you can. Expensive mistake.
