One of these adapted and take the auger out was an idea of mine!!

There's been one, tried in my local machinery sale the last two sales, will ask the auctioneer if it sold in this last sale, (north wales)

EDIT, sorry it was sold £3000

Yes I see what you mean. If it was tipped up out of the grain chute it would be a bit more consistent? If you stop the conveyor the heap would just sit on it and block chute? Might have to make it swing so it sat level as you tip up.
A gravel trailer might be a good thing for a group to buy or hire out.
