Grazing rent of legume lay

I am planning to grow a mixed legume lay under sown in spring barley of: white clover, aslike clover, red clover, sweet clover, Lucerne, and Sainfloin. The barley would be harvested and the lay would be left to grow for a year until the following August.

I’m expecting a thick, tall legume lay which will have barley volunteers in head in it, probably quite good for finishing stock. Any idea what kind of a rent this would fetch to be grazed August- September of that second year? Based in Lincolnshire.

Cheers

No fencing or water, stockman would have to bring it, it’s on arable land. There would be 125 acre available in two blocks. I only want it grazed not cut.

Yeah I was thinking 40/acre

Lot of variables;
Fenced, watered? @unlacedgecko
Can it be cut?
Round here it would probably be FOC to graze, prior to it being let to cut for circa 20-60 an acre...
Just gave £30 an acre for some to cut, he also has sheep on it for few weeks in winter so he’s having the scheme money plus the extra draw of mowing and grazing rent

This won’t be in a scheme as such, if your talking about AB15 I didn’t think you were allowed to graze or remove forage?

As I understand it from the guy he said that you need to allow it to flower and stand between such a date an such a date an then you can do what you want with it!!? Only what I was told so could be totally wrong!!

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
