Grizzly Oil Leak

My Grizzly 350 quad has an oil leak somewhere at the front top of the engine that burns off every so often. Giving off smoke and a smell. Any idea what the cause or remedy might be?

On my Kawasaki klf 300 at the top of the head there’s a cover for the cam chain which is sealed with an o ring which had been squashed and was doing exactly as you describe . New o ring cured it straight away

I assume it's air cooled? Without seeing it, it's probably number 28 that needs replacing, 93210-57634. There's one on the intake side and one on the exhaust side.

Check and adjust the valve clearances while you're in there, the air cooled engines need doing often.
