I was wandering if there is any free software for this?

I was thinking of making my own in excel.

Yes there is. Go to your local fortune teller and look in her crystal ball.
Things are so volatile nowadays hat she is probably as accurate as anyone!

Ask some kids what cows and sheep eat. When they give you the answer, go and find some animals who conform to that stereotype and are able to breed and grow whilst doing so, remaining largely alive throughout the process. .

Then makes some money.

Or you can ask a proper farmer how to do it in a way that won't make you the local laughing stock and lose your shirt on it like they do. Problem is, most of them will be on £30-50k farmers dole so they don't have to worry about actual profit. So you need to make sure you are the 3rd generation to inherit the farm. The one that in the end will lose it, but you'll be OK while the money keeps flowing.

The John Nix farm management pocketbook is a good place to start. You can follow the formula they use fairly easily and adapt (or kid yourself) to what you think your costs may be.
