Hardi Commander 4500i

Cant help you, but like to hear that you fund it good. Hardi lost there leading position here in DK about 10 to 15 years ago, due to poor paint quality, they still sell in bog numbers around the world so they must be doing something right. Do you have a good dealer close?

Yes we’ve got a good dealer close by. Currently deciding between a new Guardian 4000E without auto level and an ex demo Commander 4500I with auto level. Not much in it price wise, being drawn to the Guardian as residual levels, reliability and better spec in terms of spray pack, auto level not high on priority as majority of our fields are pancake flat.

Personally, given that choice I’d probably go for the Chafer - superior build quality in my opinion.
Chafer are heavy though.

We have gone from a Hardi Commander (3200l 2010 model) to a Chafer Sentry this year. We went away from Hardi as the manufacturer backup was woeful. The Chafer has been a dream - great backup and great technical support with any spares delivered next day. I would recomend the Chafer and forget the Hardi!

I currently run a 3200 hardi Commander 2009.
Boom strength and stability is the best i have ever had , tracking is superb, local dealer back up is also good, main problem i have had is automatic rate control is not fast enough coming back into the field on turning with section control, i believe they have now overcome this problem on current models, for me it would depend if you are going to be applying liquid fert , if you are, i would go for the chaffer in that situation as i feel they have the edge.
My hardi has been reliable and paint work is very good even with liquid fert,
