Finally 😊

Two episodes of having to empty the tank onto a heap in the yard, and a new engine 😕, but we got there in the end 😎

Why a new engine? Must have been a fairly catastrophic failure!
It was, coolant finished up in the sump.
We’ll never know for sure but the thinking is, that oil seals went in the turbo, the impeller started to break up, and ultimately a liner/liners were damaged 😕.
First I knew of it was an adblue temp sensor warning and engine derate
Strip down started on the Wednesday lunchtime, remanufactured engine sourced in France, arrived 9pm on the Thurs night, engine in and running by 7pm Friday.

What sort of age, warranty job? Can’t have been a cheap fix but no good without an engine!

How much do you gain by swathing it?
The only gain is getting it dried down. The wheat swathed on Monday was at 13.8 Friday. Straw shattered to nothing. Today it was down to 12.6. Any late tillers that were green had dried up and Wheat that was in the dough stage was hard Roundup would take ten days to get to that. Did spray 300 this morning before we started combining as rain for next week so rather keep it standing. Also the wife will drive combine if picking up rows which comes in handy.
