Well i have to report my worst yield in 36 yrs. With a little help from our politicians & the 2020 weather.
.5 tph Peas.
At least your living up to your name in reporting the yield. My barley was the worst I can remember , so think we’ve all got a tale to tell this year

remember forage aid? with bouyant stock prices is it now payback time? dont know how you could make it work though next 12mths going to be tough.
:ROFLMAO: The most you would ever get out of tight livestock farmers is muck for straw.Just tell them to sell their Fendts, downsize their Range Rovers or Discovery for ordinary pickups and share the combine.(there will be a few combines back in the shed now and finished the work for the season).................and cancel the skiing holiday for next year............right,wheres that tin hat...........

Really sorry to hear that. Combining peas around here are virtually extinct. After 3 or 4 bad years in a row we gave up last harvest. Too unreliable, too weather dependant and too much hassle for the price. A shame as prior to that we'd had two really good years with them.

I'm hoping that my volunteer Lynx spring beans (left to grow on for this year after not getting wheat established last Autumn) turn out to be my worst crop/margin this year. They've got a bit of competition from a couple of shoddy pieces of winter wheat, so it'll be a close run thing. They looked alright at one point but packed in very quickly towards the end which didn't surprise me. I've had to reconcile myself with it being a cover crop that got harvested. I did use a bit of herbicide, fungicide & trace element at a cost of £151/ha - but obviously no seed cost. They've not over exceeded my expectations by yielding 2.1 t/ha. They've left the soil in good condition after 4 years of grass & 2 years of beans. Getting it ready for wheat now - but I said that last year too.....

If there was anyone who was likely to pull a rabbit or two out of the hat this season my money would have been on Silverfox; his crops always look in rude health to the point I almost wish I could gift him 2000 acres and some toys to run over it simply because of the photos he would produce.
That’s very kind, but to be fair I didn’t show you the rubbish winter barley .

Half way through the wheat, Barrel and Elicit.
Should average just over 3t/acre
Would normally be a bit disappointed, this year it seems pretty good
Not looking forward to spring barley - looks sub 2t (and worth nothing)

thats because silverfox is a typical family tenant farmer who has looked after and knows his land. And he he has a plough and combi drill

I think Barley will go up. Compounders are changing their rations to utilise more as it's cheap. Supply and demand and all that.

Also, with the odd exception, barley in the east mids has been complete turd. And the huge area of spring barley? Well, don't hold your breath - going to be half on the ground or half blown out the back.

If it's North of £170 with your spend it should leave you something.
It’ll leave a bit, not enough really but it’s the rest of the farm I’m worried about, prices really need to rally for us to make any money this year . Spring wheat looks 2t average, oats and barley the same . Peas look well but I don’t trust them , loads of pods but some are empty!

Our Vespa winter beans are yielding 1-2 t/Ha
🤦‍♂️
One could say Peas & Beans & OSR are having a mare. I think we will end up about 1.2 tph peas on a budget of 3.5 tph.

Wheat ex S Beet, About 8 tph + 3.75 Hestons ha. We normally get 10-11 tph & 3.5 Hestons ac.

Not much help to Nr 11 when we claim all last yrs tax back.
