Wait until wheat is 250 , they'll want the barley then .You will all be getting rich off your barley then. rep asking today if I had any for sale £129 off combine. Glad I don`t grow the stuff.

They can have some of mine at £129. Was told £120 here. I suggested they may like to "f right off".
To be fair, that was what was predicted at drilling time.
I have been cutting my neighbours wheat. Spec wt is very good at 85 and protein 14.Cut another field of barley today, ok ish amount of straw and 2.25-2.5 t/ac grain.
It was too late to move the combine so we had a little nibble next door on some mid october drilled diego 2nd wheat which is doing just under 3 ton/ac(It may just be there but I'd rather under estimate)
The sample isnt as bad as I thought it might be, plenty of greens from the tramlines but they'll dye off in the heap with plenty of air.View attachment 897916
Cut our first field of Cassia WB, done approx 3t acre. This is our worst bit I think, but Usually hit 4t acre.
Cassia (mostly @Flat 10 !) drilled 18th-22nd Nov weighed out at 3.5t acre by the lorry weighers. So fairly happy
Hey I recognise that field! Ansome bit of straw it is, nicely stacked away in the barn Thanks @cornishkingWe combined our winter barley today, old skool style. 6 acres of gimlet and 6 acres of cassia. Nothing between them and made 2.8 ton / acre over the weighbridge and 81 round bales. View attachment 896173
Was it watered ?
Osr in Dorset averaged 0.75 t/ac or 1.85 t/ha in new money Pretty typical according to the locals.
Makes pulses, oats etc look more attractive, especially without the slugs & every bit of nature out to nail the oilseed rape!
Think that's probably even worse at the Bank than our 1.5t/ac WB.Osr in Dorset averaged 0.75 t/ac !
I'll end up with a ton an acre less than that I would have thought but all things considered I'll be happy with that.Cassia (mostly @Flat 10 !) drilled 18th-22nd Nov weighed out at 3.5t acre by the lorry weighers. So fairly happy[emoji1303]
