Cut another field of barley today, ok ish amount of straw and 2.25-2.5 t/ac grain.

It was too late to move the combine so we had a little nibble next door on some mid october drilled diego 2nd wheat which is doing just under 3 ton/ac(It may just be there but I'd rather under estimate)
The sample isnt as bad as I thought it might be, plenty of greens from the tramlines but they'll dye off in the heap with plenty of air.

I have been cutting my neighbours wheat. Spec wt is very good at 85 and protein 14.
Doing about 2.5t/acre.
Should be all finished there tomorrow and start at home. I have too many dull, upright ears that haven't filled and the grain looks very shrivelled. Update tomorrow.

Osr in Dorset averaged 0.75 t/ac or 1.85 t/ha in new money :( Pretty typical according to the locals. (n)

Makes pulses, oats etc look more attractive, especially without the slugs & every bit of nature out to nail the oilseed rape!

Didn't realise you'd left already! Hope you're getting on well up there!

Unfortunately there is a lot down here struggling to do 1 t/ac
