I wonder how many eggs she tried before this happened.

What skills has she got to keep poultry?

Seems that anyone can keep animals with zero skills.
Watching youtube allows to become an expert in everything it seems!

No wonder the powers that be require us to have training!

I guess that'll feck the sales of duck eggs in Waitrose, too  - as soon as all them snowflakes realise they've been eating baby ducks :X3:
Most of society don't want to know anything "inconvenient" about the food they eat, even the vegans (Some of whom refute that their food leads to animal deaths).

They are all happy to consume heavily processed food and drink which causes significant ecological damage in great quantities though

Cant see a problem with it, well done her.
It would not have happened with battery eggs, but free rsnge makes it possible
My brother delivered eggs to a person who found a half grown chick inside.
They went through the flock and found two very effeminate very tired cockerels.
Happened with some ewe lambs i was wintering once.

Not sure
My wife was on about someone on a chicken group on FB had hatched quail eggs from a supermarket (y)
I've done it.

I do know an old lady who for years tried to hatch an egg above her aga, hanging in a plastic bag. She eventually succeeded a couple of years ago, she couldn't believe it herself!

When we had a lot of poultry , we had just put a new house of POL brown egg layers in batteries . We had a shed load of absolutely beautiful but small eggs to shift , and the packer just didn't want to know . I bought a few "butcher's baskets " , put a nice bed of green sweet smelling hay in the bottom , and put them in local butcher's shops , full of these eggs . Hot cakes doesn't come near describing the sale ,and they ran out too soon . One old lady with countryside pretensions bought several lots and carefully incubated them , with the sure belief that they would hatch , despite being told otherwise . She wasn't a bit disappointed in the eggs - she was convinced that they would hatch if only she could incubate them correctly ! (She was a spinster, - perhaps that was the reason )
