I was told couple of weeks 18 months ago, 14 months ago, 12 months ago, 9 months ago, 4 months ago and 2 weeks ago... no idea who owns it now because apparently it has changed hands a few times in the last 18 months.. personally I can’t see a multiple species small scale slaughterhouse paying as the big ones are struggling to make it pay too!
Staffing it will be a big problem.

They should have put a major hospital, slaughterhouse, mart and most other key services in St.Clears, it isn’t too far from the furthest points and yet realistic for lorries on dual carriageways..

Same here, the rumours have been flying around non-stop since the last closure.

As for location of facilities, Sancler would be fine, but the same could be said for Whitland - the mart has 'changed' somehow recently  - or maybe Narberth. I think Sancler is a bit close to Carmarthen for getting so much.

Oh well, the rumour mill will continue to grind... :banghead:

The main problem is it’s been to long now, most people who used to send there have now built up good relationships with the bigger slaughter houses further away and have also got return loads in place. It’ll be handy for the odd animal with a vet certificate and calves but I can’t see many others moving there after so long away from it?
