It's supposed to be reviewed and signed by your vet and the fertility, casualties, lameness, calf illness and the like updated with actual results from the last twelve months (I think) that's what I did for mine on Thursday anyway. Mine has the back few pages changed and signed off each time.
Just get Nmr diary every year it's all in that .so much so our vets produce their own diary through Nmr.there is a lot of records that have to be looked at every year ,, antibiotic usage lameness ,, calf mortality , I think it is designed to see your farm is improving year to year
Yes the vet does have to review it. We have never used a vet to actually write it, I've always done thatas that way we have greater 'ownership' of it. We use the herd health review to go over our protocols. So we might not have had an incidence of (say) foul in the foot since the last review but would check with him whether the recommended treatment has changed. Also look at (eg) calf mortality, cow cull rate etc to see if there are any trends there that suggest a problem in management. Good to have a sit down and chew the cud with him.
Its a Red Tractor requirement that the vet reviews and signs off the HHP. I've never seen a decent farmer produced one yet, but it might happen one day. We write them.
