healthy lamb with bottle brush clumps around mouth and nose

I had this issue last year but cant confirm whether I have it in other lambs as this is a pet lamb. The lamb is just over 2 weeks but has the clumping bottle brush around the nose and mouth.

Possibly this ewe coughed up a bolus I cant confirm but is this a sign of mineral deficiency or are they too young?

Any other reason I wonder?

Taken photo off Nadis = Not my lamb but the bottle brush clumps are around the mouth and up the nose. The lamb is well nourished and happy. Nadis states its Dermatophilosis but the lamb hasn't been close to sheep or in the wet.

Seen pet lambs like that before. Have sometimes thought it was just dried milk around the mouth or maybe a skin infection caused by the milk??? Anyhow it will clear up by itself.

We have two with it, we thought it would clear up, however it got very bad, (this was back when it was really damp in the air) it gets cleared up by pen-strep, ours developed into a staph infection, with lesions and swelling.

We have it under control, steroids reduced swelling and pen-strep for a week.

Hopefully this drier weather will help stop the development.

When I used to bottle feed pet lambs (they go on ad-lib now) I'd see a few like this from them cross sucking and getting milk over each other's muzzles. Shouldn't be a problem but agree you need to watch out for the patches then getting infected.
