Hedge cutting

Any one put a tractor on terra tyres or similar for hedge cutting ? Got quite a bit to do but the ground is so wet .

when i was incharge i used to put a dual on the side of the cutter head it stopped it sinking and helped keep the top level

We were within the 3m with ours they were mainly fitted for fieldwork

I've cut on 800/65r32 and 800/50-34, the lower profile crossplies were a lot steadier. Narrow lanes were impossible with either.

I’ve got a pair of rears , they are 28.1/26R. May get a set of fronts to match.

Just got a set of these for that very reason

that fat tyre looks a larger rolling radius wont it bugger the dif,? the advantage of using a dual is they usually have crap tyres on so if you get thorns in them its not a disaster

Those 28.1x26 russians aren't the best gripping tyre, you'd be better with standard fronts to pull you through any sticky patches.

Not planning on using just one, I just put that photo on to show the comparison. This is what it should look like with both

I’m on 650/540 rear and front and can’t leave the road as fields are saturated. Had considered setting up my Zaxis 130 with a flail and saw or a mulcher and saw. Hard to know if the investment is warranted with the way farming is going. The wide wheels are another option and don’t involve the digger at all. My flail and saw would be sufficient.

I’m looking to do similar with a 6430 so I’m interested to see how it performs in the field as well

Hampshire farmer would you need that width as your tractor is not that heavy? Would 650/540 not be sufficient to keep u up? I’m cutting with a 6155r which is quite heavy.

Should have them on next week, will take some photos of how it’s travelling. Bought a spaldings wheel changer to make changes faster & safer
