last year I saw six run down on the road all in a 30 mile an hour zone non on rural roads
I saw 3 live ones 2 in the village and 1 in a field more than in any year previously

are recorded numbers falling because the farmers have wider strips around the fields crop to crop is now 4 metres compared to hedge stobin to hedge stobin of less than a metre during the period 1940 to 1995
