Hello. Planning on putting heat into my Carrier flow dryer, 40t hr, but I need to know the air flow rate to get some heat exchangers made up. Carrier have gone out of business and I have no information on what I have inherited! Any guidance as to where to look? Thanks

What heat source do you have and how much?

I think if you asked 5 different engineers you would get 5 different answers.

Others on here have done it but afraid I can't recall who it was

Hey there , I know it can be done, I have seen several all up and running. The key is the air flow into the dryer. All have different requirements . I was hoping somebody had a contact or knew what the flow rates need to be. I can get a radiator built to suit. I have the power and water temp. 1.5mw at 100deg if needed.

Assuming it's possible to get in there, buy a £10 anemometer off ebay & measure the velocity in a few places to get an average. That combined with the diameter will get you a flow rate...

I may be dreaming this, but seem to have a memory that fan should give an output of a thousand cubic foot per minute at zero resistance per horsepower.
As I say do not count on this!
