? Heptavac P Plus safe after 10 hours

Hello,
I wanted to ask if anyone has used the hep p plus vaccine after 10 hours if it's kept in the fridge and its made airtight - or do you dispose of remaining doses regardless?
I haven't done it - as I didn't think to ask the question before jabbing the sheep, but had to waste a lot last weekend after failing to find any takers for the remains of the bottle.
TIA

Rightly or wrongly, I keep any part bottles in the fridge if I'm likely to need more in the next week or two. Never had an issue with clostridial disease, but then maybe we'd get away with not jagging at all, who knows?

Occasionally it goes a dirty grey colour rather than the original creamy shade. Not sure if it's caused by contamination but I've always disposed of it later in that case.

Vet told me it will be fine if your using an auto injector and straight into the fridge 👌🏾
Does that let air in tho? The auto injector doesn't, I'm assuming this is why it keeps better? 🤷🏾‍♂️

The auto injector does not seal the bottle - or it would create a vacuum and the bottle would collapse after say half the dose is used...

Also, you'd have to put the auto injector in the fridge too - because the rubber bung in the bottle doesn't seal worth a fvck when you take it back off the injector

Mines collapsed down now all squished up, I thought they all did that?
This is an injector with the tube on to hold the bottle round your neck, I think the smaller ones where the bottle goes on top were the same, but I broke all them a few years ago 😅

Whole thing is in the fridge door

I've never used any injector that collapses the bottle properly. The last one I tried like the type you use, had a vent built into the draw off attachment 🤣

I use a Ceva injector the bottle mounts onto, even with the little rubber seal it draws air from around the stem and that's just with a Bravoxin bottle, not the big Heptavac ones

Hope you take the needle off before putting it in the fridge - could be a nasty jab first thing in the morning when you're reaching for the milk 🤣🤣

For clarity, how many years has this bottle been on the go?🤔😂

These guns collapse the bottles and don’t let the air in. Not that I’m bother because never really have much left as we try and do bunch’s in 250 ewe increments so don’t have any left over.

Just checked in the fridge for A/B and Metacam, haven't got any still within their use by date. Use fingers from a nitrile glove to keep the trapped air from leaking out of the opened Heptavac bottle.

This.

For the win.

You know how many doses you have per bottle, you know how many sheep you have. Spend 5 seconds and plan to do that many sheep - and stop fvcking about with 'preserving' part used bottles.

Or buy bottles the right size to do each mob/group
