Homemade concrete bollards

I have a lonh driveway with grass either side. Trouble is vehicle pull off onto the grass making a mess of the ground underneath this time of year

I want to put some bollards along the driveway, looking at the net, the cost buying is prohibitive. My old man want to buy cheap plastic buckets, fill them with concrete and then remove the concrete once set. Maybe on a good day he might even think about painting them!

I think this would look horrid as they will obviously be bucket shaped. Has anyone made a mould, say out of wood that can be resused? I am thinking more of a pyramid shape about 1 foot high and paint them white.
Trouble is will they still look rough? Anyone any experience of this ? I have looked for plastic moulds on the net but can find any

Anyone any alternative ideas that will look half decent. I reckon I will need about 50

If you can find a mould for staddle stones, then that would give nice shape. Make sure you vibrate the concrete to give it a smooth finish

Ah yes, the age old problem of delivery drivers not respecting your grass, I will be interested to hear what solutions you find, same issue here.

I am about to put up a sign saying "Anyone seen driving on the grass will be shot at!"

I wonder how that will go down!?

Wouldn't start painting them, get the finish right from the start and leave them.
Mate used a football and fiberglass around it, to make a two half moulds for a concrete sphere. Look proper tidy when they were finished. Some lively ornamental buckets in the garden stores?
We would have at least 5 different types of stone here, in several weight categories, if you had a truck passing? Hard to beat natural stone for that sort of thing.

How about some 4" round posts knocked in the ground. If you only want them out the ground about a foot maybe cut them in half ? (i think they are normally about 4-5 ft long) You can also paint them. and they are not gonna do huge damage if anyone does hit them!!

+1 on the round fence posts, looks a lot better imo and like Fuzzy says: I someone has to dive out the way at least no serious damage is done.

I have 3 of the proper concrete bollards if anyone wants them. Be too heavy and awkward to send but if anyone interested is in easy collecting distance then please get in touch and arrange a convenient time to collect. Price would be a donation of whatever you like to a charity of your choice.

Then you are going to have to mow round every one every week. Be easier to dig a ditch each side or perhaps curb it.
