Don't even look at it. As with solar, the incoming (already in for 'commercial' set ups) domestic RHI payments are what will make the whole biomass boiler thing stack up. To qualify, the boiler has to be up to spec and fitted by an MCS accredited installer. I put a pellet boiler in here, which should bring in £2k a year in RHI payments as of next year, which equates to free fuel and repay the cost of the boiler over 7 years.

Having lived with Scanfield, and the Farm2000 boilers for many, many years, I didn't even consider one when looking at a heating system here. Had too many years of having to stoke boilers after a long day, and getting covered in ash whilst cleaning out. Each to their own I guess, but the novelty wears off.;)

as with all projects well mine anyway trying to use what you have laying around does not always work out the 6" tube i had and used is not man enough to take enough smoke away when reloading so as soon as this gorgeous weather we have been inflicted with fecks off i will fit the new 12" flue

With payments linked to inflation and guaranteed for 20 years on commercial and 7 years for domestic but at higher rate its seriously worth looking into if any one needs any info please send PM
Just had £2777 for our first quarter...
Add that to the Savin of farm house oil and the £1000 from 3 tenants in 3 months and not bad earner..
All,wood is free just bit labour to split..

From my experience do use insulated flue.it may cost a fortune but if not it will be permanently tarred up
