Hook Lift Trailer

Made a hooklift trailer for behind car/landy/van about 3 years ago, @S J H spotted it in one of my photo's a while back so here's some pictures of it, and if i can work out how to get a video on here a video as well

This is it in tipper trailer mode

Should probably have washed it first

The body slides back to use for hooking on/rolling off, this makes the lift arm shorter so the bed isn't as steep

When the bed slides back it pushes these pins back, swapping it from tipping trailer to hook lift

I have two bodys a tipper and a flat, got the steel to make a third which is going to be a site cabin, one day

No from scratch, didn't really have anything to copy off either as I've never seen a hooklift car trailer, so i looked at a wagon one and made some cardboard templates to scale, and a google model, then the rest is made up as it went along.

the locking pins for the tipper to hooklift took ages to get right

That's impressive, yeh a mobile tool container would be handy.

Be cheaper to buy two trailers,

Well happen a bit harsh on myself, all in including two body's, pump, pipes, axlesx a bit of time, certainly not all of it that trailer stands me at 8k

Facebook the video and then post the link here, that might work for you? Proper tidy, did you approach any of the trailer guys with the drawings? Very impressive bit of kit, would really be an addition to any trailer range from any of the big players. Where price wouldn't really be an issue.

About 900kg, The trailers about 700kg

There isn't any proper drawings to show them id have to show them the trailer but I didn't no,
