Hot back end on New Holland t6010

Hi,

I have noticed the back end on the t6010 getting very hot. Today when I brought it back to the yard after pulling low loader with 6ton digger on for 40 minutes up and down a few hills so it was working it hard. I noticed the back end was bone dry even though it was raining. Putting my hand on the rear casting it was very warm. I put a wet finger on it and the moisture dyed off straight away! It doesn’t sound like a hydraulic spool valve is stuck on and I had someone test the pressures on the hydraulic pumps and they said they were within tolerance. A fitter friend mentioned it could be a valve that is behind the diesel tank, think they said (pressure relief or diverer valve). Anyone got any ideas what it could be or what to test to rule out certain things? It has got the manual gearbox with a splitter button and a loader fitted that makes a difference. Every thing works as normal just don’t want to use it when it’s getting so hot. Any advice much appreciated.

We had this on a TS100A, transmission used to take a lot of power too. Never did get to the bottom of it and sold it. Had a £1000 bill trying to sort it but they never did

What did they look at trying to fix? That’s what I am afraid of throwing money at it and still not sorting it.

Does it sound like there's a spool valve constant pumping/dead ending all the while?
If so it'll be the pressure compensator valve on top of the pump sticking, they're prone to playing up. I've changed one on my 130 and my mxu100 needs replacing when I get round to it. Costs about £800 from dealer or £250 from an independent hydraulic specialist.
With the back wheel removed it's not a big job to change.

As stated remove the wheel and run engine you should be able to check hyd pipework by feeling how hot it is, as for oil cooler did you check to feel how hot it was after use, could be the flow through it is slow, if you think your tractor was hot the early 60ser could be used to fry an egg.
