What is the admin of BFF playing at?

I'm not overly IT literate but hours are a long time on the internet, days are simply ages.

The forum was hacked, should it really take more than an hour or two to get things back online?

Its more the content on BFF I'm concerned about... I'm liking the user friendly-ness of this forum and the relaxed style.

Surely the Bulletin board etc. are managed and run on third party servers, the cloud if you like, so surely all the security is managed by the bulletin board providers software and servers?

Or has literally someone got hold of the BFF admin login details and caused havoc?

this could open up a whole load of conspiracy theories:eek: :D must admit I did think it would be back up and running quicker, but does just one hold the control of admin, if so perhaps they are on their holls or otherwise disposed.
Perhaps all the horsey threads drew too much interest:oops: the link I followed to get here was posted by someone in china

Someone on FWI just said that is should be up and running soon when new server is active. Ive just said that i think BFF has missed the boat now, things have moved on a lot in the space of 3 days..........
As long as this place has the core BFF'ers on board (pun intended) then I would think you're right the boat has sailed. Its incredible given the database of emails that BFF admin had not updated its members!?

Had to laugh about waiting for the DNS to propagate !

Yes it does take time but I have never waited this long and by definition it is time taken for the details to spread out to all servers meaning that by now some should be working which would mean some users would now be back on line. Anyone got some wood for a coffin for BFF, I have some nails here.

Like has been said on here in other comments, BFF could have easily increased its numbers if it had actually accepted people and not ignored them. There will still be a few "fuddy duddys" who are adament that BFF is king, but judging by how this place is progressing, maybe there should just be a quiet abdication?

99% of what was wrong with BFF has been fixed here, thats the top and bottom of it really.

This forum moved servers last night - went offline at 1.30am and we were back by 1.36am

Hopefully this one will keep us going for a while but a server move is a 10 minute job if well planned

Could be a good way of making some extra cash - not sure anyone would ride the one phsyco that is going as I can barely get near it in the stable

I'm surprised too, there will be a few irregular visitors to BFF using the same log in details for that and other sites who don't know of the problems yet, if it really was hacked then they've been let down pretty badly. It's taking a long time to re-surface though....
