I know a few people that bought block and mass concrete houses, for small money and the issue was really foundations. Years ago, some people just threw stuff up without bothering with foundations. Cheapest option is to knock and rebuild, but half were caught up in listed building territories. One was lucky to have this issue covered by his insurance, but it cost €200k to deal with only one room, that had no foundations. I would strongly recommend that you get a good structural engineer to have a look.

The guy at the estate agent has not seen a house like it before, he thought it was not possible for mortgage
There is a big hall about a mile away so is probably one time connected to it
There are houses around the hall built
with brick to keep with appearance, so could these 2 have been built in a rush on a tight budget and definitely before planning permission was needed
There is quarry with ready mix concrete plant nearby which has been
Going for a very long time so it is possible that's where the concrete came from
The chimneys are interesting
