How is your JD x9 combine performing?

No doubt complaining about the fact the X9 wouldn't drive at 9.81 mph going full tilt whilst the Fendt Ideal did a blistering 9.91mph shortly before incinerating itself.
To be fair to him, hes complained about the steps, and the flexible header breaking bolts and some poor design features on the JD, not performance. He did say that the Ideals had a better sample but they never managed to get the Ideals all running at the same time due to crap reliability.
As for a review of a machine hes as good as anybody else on the internet.

They are cutting more or less nothing though, I don't do bushels/ac but 1 or 2 bushels/ac of crop is not much by anybodies standards.
I don't know how they can afford all the investment with two years of droughted out crops.
I felt sorry for that Welker Farms lads, driving about looking for a bit of crop with something on it to cut, drought and then 3 hail storms over some of their land.

Interestingly over on the combine forum one of the chaps that bought one of the ideals from mitchels has put his experience up. They have done a small mod in the chopper area and basically run without issues since. Reckons it’s fantastic and talking about adding an ideal 10 to his fleet for next year.

I’ve said it before but mitchels are hard on gear. Not sure why but they don’t get the performance others get from equipment. That’s coming from a close friend of mikes also.

Not really more about how the s series seams to have better features. Considering the x9 is meant to be top dog
