How many posts and strainers

Hi.

I need to replace a boundary fence between my field and local golf course.

The fence is approx 450 metres and I am thinking 3 strands of H/T topped with one of barbed or maybe 2 & 2.

How many posts would I need to order for a 450 mtr run ?

TIA
Tony

Depends what livestock. Homo Sapiens on one side. Do they try and cross over because the grass is greener or the balls are whiter?
Your side? Cattle, sheep, pigs, crops?

4-5m spacings if it's flat ground and ht wire. Strainer on every turn, if it's a pretty straight run I'd strain it all into the middle.

a post every two yards and a strainer at either end and wherever needed in between will do fine. I would use a shire net and a couple of barbs makes it harder for dogs to get through and is still stock proof even if the wires aren't tight. if you are only looking to mark the boundary that might be a bit overkill

Strainer either end turner/strainer every 100m, 6 ft posts at 3m centres rylock topped off with heavy duty double barb and a mains leccy fence BOTH sides. So long as they pay for half. In seriousness struggling with 15yr guarantee strainers rotting after 6-8 years trying creosote soaked ones now.

Cheers BB
