How much is low mileage 4x4 worth?

Sometimes low milage is due to it being stored away for a length of time. Know a chap who bought a 944 Turbo S Porsche with very low miles on, he thought it a bargain but when his mechanic got into it, it cost him a bomb, new brakes all round, brake pipes blah blah blah, list was endless

When I bought my landcruiser ,,the previous owner had only used it to tow a caravan and in one year only did 1500 miles ,,as it had been stood a lot ,the exhaust rusted out from condensation .

p38 unless your going to maintain it yourself and have the knowledge and equipment to read all the electronics on it walk away now as for the last proper ranger rover rubbish it was the rrc the p38 is its computer controlled brother and I mean computer controls everything they are a nightmare once they start going wrong low or high mileage it don't matter a fig the electronics will send you bald the bmw 6 pot is prone to cracked heads block pressurising till it splits your rad

Terrible reputation on these. Problems with air suspension and electronics are chronic. Or were chronic. Noisy underpowered indirect injection BMW engine. Nobody liked them. They had the shortest production run of any Land or Range Rover, I think less than five years, which should tell you a thing or two. They were and are a disaster, whether diesel or petrol engine is fitted.

In really good low mileage condition it may well be in the realms of being a collector's item about now, so it may be worth whatever anyone is willing to pay for it. A collector's item mind you, not for any serious use or it will bankrupt you or send you to the loony bin.
In general, well used average or worse ones have been going from scrap value to a very maximum of £3k for the last six or seven years.

Interesting comment that it’s ‘last of the proper range rovers’.

What makes every Range Rover since any less of a proper Range Rover? The L322 was twice the car the p38 ever was, and even more so when it got the V8 diesel.

I'm guessing you have seen photos, if I was you I would ask for a photo of the engine bay nearest the bulkhead and see if the foam type insulation is complete or has there been slots cut into it at the rear of the head area

I have had them all - 16 in total from the RR Classics to the latest model L405 Vogue SE V8 Diesel - and the P38 is the worst of all Range Rovers ever made - absolutely horrid both mechanically and also the unfortunate Metro Cab look does it zero favours.

Out of all of the RR models the P38 is the last I would chose to own. The electrical and computer wizardry was before their time and the issues they throw up are an absolute nightmare. The Classics had virtually zero complications apart from rust, the later L322 had most of the issues of the P38 ironed out.

Here is a 20 year old 4X4, not a Range Rover. Steep price though.
That must be just about the last model that had a chassis and live rear axle rather than a monocoque with independent suspension, which must have taken over not long after this one was registered.
This is a facelifted second generation with coil springs at the back. I had a 1987 first generation shorty 2.5 with leafs at the rear. Great little thing which my mother ran from 1989 to 95. Silver with bumpers I hand painted in Same orange at three years of age, because the original black paint was blistering. Mum was seen by all, far and wide. ?
