How to get the population to deliberately infect themselves with Covid - Give them £500

People on low incomes are already eligible for payment although I think there are some gaps and delays in the system which should be rectified. Anyway this suggestion for payments across the board was only 'considered' and I think fortunately will not come to anything.

As far as I am aware, if you are self employed you can claim nothing. So if you are bricky or a labourer who is paid cash .. you get nothing.

Whilst what you say is true in theory the treatment of low paid workers is a weakness in the whole self isolating strategy. In the short term debts can mount quickly for hard pressed families, in such circumstances carrying on working is the line of least resistance. Some employers will help but many won’t.

Oh well in that spirit he is some more fake news from the fake news media.

Prof Andrew Hayward, director of the UCL Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care, who has attended Sage meetings, said the finding showed how important it was to ensure the current lockdown restrictions were as effective as possible while vaccines were rolled out.

“The groups who are at highest risk of infection now are those who cannot afford to work from home. There needs to be more done to enable more people to stay at home without losing out financially and to expand regular testing to those who need to continue to work, combined with measures to support self-isolation if positive,” he said.

“Although rates are coming down slowly we still have amongst the highest rates of infection and death in the world.”

Professor Hayward was commenting on the mortality figures and transmission rates of the UK variant.

Heard something on the radio about a school hall in London, which had been rented out for an “event”!
Turns out the event was last week, and was a wedding with four hundred guests in attendance, when the Old Bill turned up ......
To top it all off, the principle of said school died of Covid last year ....
It’s really hard to fathom how reckless some people can be ..
