How to properly operate a db 995 loader

The oily bits are the same. Anything that you'll need a manual for won't have changed, there'll just be a cab in the way.
Things like my whole dump valve assembly in the workshop manual that I have look different to the one I have so it makes it little hard to get my head around stuff

The actual dump valve is the same on all of them. Q cab models have a lever and rod to work it, but if you look under the cab you see basically the same set up as the earlier models.

Just managed to move the back actor out of the way using the 3 point linkage, it didn't want to lift at first but then just a burst of power from nowhere and it lifted no problem but wouldn't stay up. I dont know if this gives any insight to the problem
 
Wonder have you a pump in front of the engine like on the 1210 we had, remember the spines going on it and you had to take it by surprise by pulling the lever when the pump least expected to get something done

Just managed to put a pressure gauge on the tipping pipe and I'm only getting about 1100 psi, does this mean a broken pump
Not for certain, it could be the O ring behind the hyraulic pump thats done for. You'll have to drain the oil out the back end, remove the switch and adaptor from under the pto housing which brings on the yellow light on the dash, remove the ring of bolts around the PTO unit after disconnecting any operating levers, lift the unit out, careful it may bring the cardan shaft out which drives the PTO, now you should see the oil pump. Disconnect any pipes attached and unbolt the pump, where the pump meets the back axle there is a hole , this aligns with a port on the pump which should have an O ring to seal it to the axle, it's likely the O ring is either damaged or completely missing, if left like this too long the oil will wear away the metal and make it harder for the O ring to seal.

Hydraulic pressure pipe for the loader should be connected to this port and not the camels hump.

When I get the back actor connected up, the hydraulic feed comes from the lower port 2 which is already connected as the tipping pipe but does the return connect to the camels hump on the lower part.

Hydraulics to the loader are in the correct place then, it can return through the camels hump, if spool valves were fitted that's where oil is returned to anyway, early tractors before cabs had the return from the loader straight in to the filler plug by the gear levers. And I've seen it returned through the filler point on the PTO unit, though I think the preferred point is where the loader goes now.
