Last night a had to nip over to my sisters and as the weather was quite nice I took my motorcycle , when I left I came home via the A17 ( the biggest road in our area) I soon came across a rather large queue of traffic and as I was on my bike I started to filter past . When I finally got to the front of the tailback i found the cause . One escort vehicle Two Lexions , Two tractors with the headers on trailers , Two tractors and carts seven in total but the problem was you couldn’t have got a fag paper between them so no one could overtake and if anyone did attempt to they could have soon got in a muddle as no way could you have pulled in .

I’ve often driven a combine on the road during my contracting days and thought that even the escort vehicle can be an unecessary obstacle for people to get around. I mean if you can’t see a combine harvester 14 foot high sporting two flashing beacons then how will an escort vehicle help except possibly an advance warning on blind corners for oncoming traffic. To me, 99% of the time it just looked like another opportunity for some dangerous overtaking and many a time people would come flying past me and nearly hit the back of it. Better off without them most of the time.

I know this because when I’m in a car or pickup I can pass tractors or other slow moving vehicles in the same places cars seemingly can’t pass us

We have this alot. A car won't overtake and sits too far back so no one else can overtake either. It can be really bad here as we are in a tourist area.
