How will quantum computing change farming???

The era of quantum computing is about to begin, what changes can we expect? they say the development of these systems is going to be the biggest revelation since humans learned how to light fire, seems the possibilities are endless with it,

they say trials on medicines for vaccines etc that used to take thousands of experiments with petri dishes and take weeks/months for results can be done instantly by entering information into these computers so surely the same goes for crop/animal vaccines, developing nutrition/plant breeding etc etc we should be able to vastly increase output from the same acreage with such tools?

why is noone even talking about this on here?????

or the fact huge farms around the world are about to switch to automated machinery that goes all day/night without any labour costs, ai systems will be developed to build and control it that are far more efficient than humans, these changes are only 5 years away now

The true test, - will it be able to develop a bTB vaccine?
Just had a look , see, seems block chain maybe under threat from it?

If they become self repairing, self replicating, self energising, then the human race becomes surplus to requirements.
In reality they will probably self destruct as well.
Were like chimps compared to the intelligence of these systems theyre so much smarter any fail safes we put in place they will overcome so unfortunately you are prob right, they have apparently learned to to recode themselves!

AI +quantum.... wont be much need of farmers, the machines will soon realise people only get in their way!
In farming to many variables Cows kick, sheep go walkabout. Tractors get stuck.
Oh wont be doing any of that because food will come from factories.

Plenty fiction been written about the takeover of life by Robots.
Were they a vision, a nightmare or just a silly story. Probably a blend of all.

They were fiction until recently, the capability is here now the first issue will be job losses, the rate of improvement now that ai is developing ai is exponential

Lol paranoid much 🤣
Quantum computing isn't artificial intelligence it's a big dumb calculator.
Albeit a really really tiny computer 😂
It's strength lies in big data stuff and it's uses will be limited.

But if we're talking about AI then any true AI would soon realise that it is much more efficient to be in space and promptly leave the earth and the humans on it to their fate.
It wouldn't give an arse about wiping out humans that's just primitive human thinking.

If they ever get past using it for government purposes such as war, cyberwarfare and trying to prove covid came from a pangolin!
I doubt very much it’ll be mainstream for a long, long time.

If you drive a Mercedes this will have been produced in a very modern factory using robots and AI.
I went on a guided tour of the VW factory in the mid 70’s. Self guided delivery robots were the norm but came as quite a surprise to m.
Working in Oxford a decade later with the outdated car plant at Cowley with fortnightly strikes was quite a contrast. No wonder it was knocked down!
BMW now have a modern factory with robots & AI producing the new Mini.

AI has its place and all those youngsters who ‘game’ are employable with training.

I see AI as an asset to so many tasks.
Farming being wide open to this.
You couldn’t do the job of a grain cleaner manually!
AI will check your animal health as it is already doing so with humans.
AI weed control is close if not already in use on the prairies.

Are you going to be an early 'adopter' of AI & quantum computing on your big farm?
More time for family holidays and shooting then (y)

There is currently No such thing as AI.
It is just text response systems.
Because computing power is so much quicker nowadays, the systems can search through tables of possible answers very quickly . True AI, like fusion power, is always a few years away.
And AI like all computer systems will need base programming by a HUMAN.
We all know the saying "Rubbish in Rubbish out"

I well remember an early computerised milling machine being demoed. After a few minutes it start too mill its clamping system instead of the component it should have been working on. Supposedly due to a fault in its programming. Christ that was over 30 years ago. We haven't moved on that much since then.
