i reckon go for an R one ,Hi I need to change out a hydraulic motor and was wondering can anyone tell me whats the difference between smp (omp) and smr (omr) hydraulic motors both of them have similar measurements and specs I've attached a photo
It's for a wood chipper they drive the feed rollersThey are similar apart from the gear wheel sets are different. It depends on the application to which motor suits the application better.
Would it make a difference which I get as I replaced one last year which I put the smr version on but learnt afterwards the omr version was on itThey are similar apart from the gear wheel sets are different. It depends on the application to which motor suits the application better.
Definitely the Danfoss OMR motor as your application requires torque not speed. It's for a wood chipper they drive the feed rollers
ThanksDefinitely the Danfoss OMR motor as your application requires torque not speed.
I expect you know it and its shown on them charts but obviously the capacity of the motror needs to fairly well match what you need for your use .... and as cc goes up (bigger size) speed slows down but torque increases at the same flow rate. Thanks
I have since ordered the smr version 250 the original was an smp250 it's on a woodchipper feed rate speed doesn't bother me torque is most important to me to pull in any odd shaped pieces. My orignal fear was that one might be for constant running and the other would be intermittentI expect you know it and its shown on them charts but obviously the capacity of the motror needs to fairly well match what you need for your use .... and as cc goes up (bigger size) speed slows down but torque increases at the same flow rate.
Knowing your pump flow output will help to select one or simply measuring / looking at the serial plate of the old one to see what it was on the machine before hand goes with out saying i guess.
Hope you don't mind me asking. What was the cost of the cost of the SMR 250 motor compared to the SMP?I have since ordered the smr version 250 the original was an smp250 it's on a woodchipper feed rate speed doesn't bother me torque is most important to me to pull in any odd shaped pieces.
