IACS and the new SFP Query..

Does the land/ ac you put down in this years IACS give you your entitlements for 2015 and the new SFP scheme (and how they will calculate your future payment)?

Info on where the gov't are with the new Basic Payment Scheme for Scotland can be found here: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2013/12/5922/291508

We won't know until later this year (hoping April) exactly what the plans are- but where we are up to now can be found on the Scotland site...

Am I correct in thinking that the sfp entitlements you hold for this year will be the base of your next 5 years, not what quantity of land you manage to accumulate this year ? ( as some seem to be trying to take every acre they can get, thinking this year this will increase their payment for next 5 years )

That wouldn't be my take on it Cowcalf, I thought the entitlements would end this year as it moves onto the area basis next year.
That is what all the readyreckoner's that the scotgov have put out suggest, (multiply the payment by your ha farmed).

Whats the story with a ewe payment now?! Back to retention periods and counting sheep? And the NFU are congratulating themselves on this coupled payment

I realise that is how it will be but is there not a reducing payment based on previous SFP so there is no sudden large reduction in your payment in total ( I read somewhere a reduction of 11-18% will be about what the average beef farmer would get, but folk who where claiming lots of bull/steer claims would suffer more than suckler based outfits ) Must admit find it hard figuring out the fact and fiction as everybody seems to interpret different
