iCloud photos on two devices

Evening All,

I've got a question about how iCloud photos works if you can help.

the Mrs take oodles of photos with her phone and we buy iCloud storage with Apple for backing up. She also has an iPad logged into her account that mirrors those photos as well. The Little girl (5) is using the iPad for school and educational games during home schooling and likes to look at the photos too, they're mainly of her!
The Mrs and me are a bit concerned she could delete them by mistake which presumably would delete them from the phone and the cloud as well. Any easy way to prevent this while still allowing access? I guess photo stream is the answer but I'm not sure I quite 'get' how it works.

advice appreciated.

My wife is an Apple expert and she said there’s no easy way of doing it, the only way to do it is to make your daughter a little album of nice photos for her to look at but stop the link/stream because if she deletes off 1 device it deletes the item off them all.

Thought so. Thank you for taking the time. I'll look at photo stream, I gather its a way of sharing your stream with friends and family..... I'm hoping they wouldn't have access to modify.

Make sure she has her own account and create an album in your Photos with all the required images added to it. Then 'share' the album with her account. This doesn't duplicate the photos on your account, so avoids duplicating, it just adds a tag to them that the album references.
This way her iPad doesn't have access to your other business either unless you choose to share, but you won't be able to get at her files either. That's unless you set up her iCloud account and password and know her iPad's password.

It's not as difficult as it sounds. I share albums with, for instance, people I go on holiday with [those were the days!]. At least I've got photographic memories of them, and so have they.
